Overview

MindLock helps you build healthier digital habits on iOS. We designed MindLock to minimize the data we collect, store the least amount of information necessary to operate, and never sell your data.

What We Collect

From the iOS App

  • Usage enforcement state (on‑device): selections of which apps you track and your daily time limits. These values are kept on your device and in Apple’s Screen Time system APIs.
  • Purchases: when you buy a Day Pass, the app sends a signed StoreKit transaction (JWS) to our backend for validation, along with a pseudonymous user identifier generated on the device.
  • Charity selection (on‑device) used to display your chosen cause during the unlock flow.

From the Website

This static site does not use third‑party trackers. Standard server logs may capture your IP address and user‑agent for security and reliability.

How We Use Data

  • Validate App Store purchases and unlock the app for the day.
  • Operate, secure, and improve our service.
  • Generate anonymized financial reports (e.g., donation totals).

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that help us operate MindLock:

  • Apple (App Store purchases and receipts)
  • Supabase/PostgreSQL (database storage)
  • Upstash Redis (job queue/processing)
  • Render (application hosting)

Retention

Purchase records are retained for accounting, fraud prevention, and donation reporting. On‑device Screen Time settings remain on your device until you remove them.

Security

We use encryption in transit, principle of least privilege, and segregated environments. No payment card data is handled by MindLock; Apple processes all payments.

Children

MindLock is intended for general audiences. If you are under the age required by your region, use the app with a parent or guardian and Apple Family controls.

Your Choices

  • You can delete the app to remove on‑device data.
  • You may request deletion of backend purchase records subject to legal/accounting requirements.
